A new house and home office at Wingfield
ProjectsAbout this project
After obtaining a bat licence, building is scheduled to commence in July 2026. The house is planned on a grid of 1950mm. The pitched, metal clad, roof was generated by the requirement to provide bat accommodation, sited over the car port on the west side of the house. The walls are glass panels in aluminium frames. Some panels are sliding doors and others have white, stoved on, paint to provide obscured glazing to insulated stud walls internally. The highly insulated construction includes solar panels, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, a heat pump and underfloor heating. The office will be a conversion of three timber framed stables. The garden is laid out with gravel paths and a wall of reclaimed brick is proposed between the drive and planting.
