A new private house west of Winsley

About this project

The three bedroom house replaced a timber framed, asbestos panelled, cottage. The sloping site allowed the plan to have two levels. The upper level has two bedrooms, the bathroom and the entrance. The low level, four steps down, provides the living, dining, kitchen and the master bedroom, all looking down the garden to the canal. Next to the entrance is an oak boarded circular room and this houses the cloakroom. The underfloor heating is provided by an air to water heat pump.
